Tartan fabric, “Carreaux Highlands”, from the French brand Singulière x Cousette.

With its large tartan pattern, Carreaux Highlands draws inspiration from traditional fabrics, reimagined in a contemporary colour palette.

Its substantial weight makes it ideal for making jackets, overshirts, skirts or trousers

Natural fabrics tend to shrink by 5 to 7 per cent, so it is important to wash the fabric before cutting it and to take this shrinkage into account when calculating the amount of fabric you need.

To ensure your lovely fabrics are looked after as well as possible, we recommend washing them before sewing; this will help to stabilise the fabric.

• Wash your fabric in a washing net to preserve the colors.
• Choose a mild detergent without bleach.
• Wash your fabric with a delicate or silk program, temperature max 30 °
• Gentle spin (max 800 rpm)
• Dry your laundry in the open air, taking care to smooth it out when it comes out of the machine, tumble dryer prohibited, of course!
• Iron at medium temperature (150 °)
