How to Take Clothing Measurements

Get a flexible measuring tape. These are often sold in craft stores
Neck:
- Measure around the base of the neck in inches.
- Round up to the nearest half inch.
Chest:
- Wrap tape measure under armpits around fullest part of chest (usually right above nipples
Sleeve:
- Bend your elbow and rest your hand on your hip.
- Have someone measure from the middle of the back of your neck to your wrist by putting the tape measure over your shoulder, around your elbow and to your wrist.
Waist:
- Wrap tape measure around where you normally wear your pants. Keep tape measure a little loose by keeping a finger between the tape measure and your waist.
Inseam:
- Put on a pair of shoes.Have someone measure from your crotch to back of the heel, where you want your pants to end.
Hands:
- Measure around the hand at the fullest part (exclude thumb). The number of inches shows the size of the glove.

Be careful, before sewing your fabric, it must be machine washed once, which will result in a shrinkage of about 10 to 15% of its initial size.

1 Steam iron fabric on the reverse side and on the right side on a delicate programme
Overlock the fabric edges before machine washing for better thread retention.
Machine wash at 30°C maximum with a spin on a delicate programme
Do not tumble dry.

Sewing pattern for the Elyette Blouse Jacket, Singulière x Cousette Fabrics. With a fine fabric for a blouse look, which can be made with a mao collar or bias neckline. Sleeves are fitted, but wide enough. They can be ¾ or long (in two parts: high and low), tightened with 4 pleats and finished with a sleeve band. Small patch pockets on the front echo the sleeve folds. A wide hem can be used as a drawstring to tighten the bottom.
